Who this page is for

A catalog shows you the watch. This page shows you how it got there.

This page is for the buyer who is weighing a private dealer against a marketplace, an auction, or a boutique list: a first pre-owned purchase, a collector adding a reference, or an out-of-state buyer who cannot drop in. The catalog grid cannot explain how a watch reached the case or what happens after you say yes. This page does.

I am one dealer. I buy watches in person from owners across South Florida and on my insured label from anywhere in the USA, inspect each one myself, have it serviced if it needs it, and list it with the history I know. I meet buyers by appointment, Mon to Sat, at my Brickell office or in their county.

Below: the brands I deal in, each with its own buying page; how a watch gets into the case; viewing by appointment and the remote process; buying from the catalog against commissioning a search; what guaranteed genuine means here; trades; and what I do not sell.

Buying from a private dealer

What changes when one person handles the whole purchase.

Inspected before it is listed

Case, movement, papers, and serials checked by me, in person, the day the watch arrives. A watch that does not pass is not offered.

The history, disclosed

Service parts, polishing, missing papers, and what the previous owner told me. Every listing states what I know; the appointment shows it.

Seen in your county

By appointment, Mon to Sat, at my Brickell office or wherever suits you in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach. Try it on before you decide.

Remote, with a call first

Out-of-state buyers get detailed photos, video, and a call walking through the piece before anything ships, then an inspection window on arrival.

Trade what you wear now

Your current watch is inspected in person and credited against anything in the case or a sourced piece. One transaction, one person.

Nothing said afterwards

Your name, the watch, and the price are never discussed. No social post, no third-party service with your details on a form.

What guaranteed genuine means here

The guarantee, item by item.

Every watch I sell is authenticated in person before it ships and guaranteed genuine, as described. This is what that covers.

Genuine, by my own inspection

No watch is sold on a photo or a third-party certificate alone. I have had it in hand, opened where needed, and matched the serials to the papers.

As described

Reference, generation, condition, service parts, and documents as stated in the listing. If the watch differs from the description, it comes back.

Service history disclosed

Any service record or provenance I hold is passed on with the watch. Unknown history is stated as unknown, not dressed up.

Insured in transit

Hand delivery in South Florida. Elsewhere, FedEx Priority Overnight, fully insured, signature at both ends, discreet unbranded packaging, USA only.

An inspection window on arrival

Remote purchases carry an inspection window from delivery, stated in the terms, so you can confirm the watch matches the call before it is final.

What I do not sell

Fashion brands, smartwatches, replicas, watches with swapped movements, and pieces with stones added after they left the factory.

How to choose

Five decisions, in the order I would make them.

  1. 01

Decide how you will wear it

Daily under a cuff, weekends and water, or a few evenings a year. That answer narrows thirteen brands to two or three before a reference comes up.

  2. 02

Pick the brand page, then the family

Each brand page above names the families I stock or source and who each suits, and links to the model pages for the generations.

  3. 03

    Choose pre-owned or new

New wins when you want the current reference unworn with the full factory warranty and no list. Pre-owned wins for discontinued dials, a sport model now, or a trade.

  4. 04

Check the catalog, or commission a search

If the case has a reference you would be glad to own, book an appointment. If you want one specific combination, send it through the sourcing form.

  5. 05

See it, then take it home

By appointment in your county, or photos, video, and a call. Hand delivery locally, insured FedEx elsewhere, with an inspection window on arrival.

The process

How buying from me works, start to finish.

How a watch gets into the case

Every watch I sell came from an owner, not a wholesaler's tray. I buy by appointment across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach, and on my prepaid insured label from anywhere in the USA. The day it arrives I inspect the case, movement, papers, and serials myself. If the movement needs a service, it gets one before the listing, and the listing says so. Then it is photographed and listed with what I know: reference, generation, documents, service parts, polishing, box, and links. Nothing goes in the case on a photo.

Viewing by appointment, in your county

I meet buyers Mon to Sat by appointment. My office is in Brickell, and I will also come to you in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach. You try the watch on, see the papers against the serials, and ask whatever you like. If it suits you, you can leave with it. If it does not, there is no obligation, and I would rather you walked away than wore a watch in the wrong size.

Buying remotely

If you are outside South Florida, I send detailed photos and video of the watch, then we talk through it on a call: the condition under a lamp, the papers, anything the listing could not show. Only after that does it ship, on FedEx Priority Overnight, fully insured, signature at both ends, in discreet unbranded packaging, USA only. You have an inspection window from delivery, stated in the terms, to confirm the watch is the one we discussed.

Catalog or a sourced piece

The catalog is what I have in hand now. If a reference there suits you, buy from the case: you can see it this week and take it home from the appointment. Commission a search when you want one specific combination: a discontinued dial, a particular bezel, a size the current line no longer offers, a full set with a certain card year, or a brand I source rather than stock. The sourcing form asks for the reference and your must-haves. I look through my private network, send photos and video of what I find, and you decide. A search is not a commitment to buy.

Trading against a purchase

Your current watch can pay for part of the next one. I inspect it the same way I inspect anything I buy, price it against real dealer-to-dealer transaction data, show you the reasoning, and credit it against the watch you choose from the case or from a search. A trade is one transaction with one person, which is simpler than selling in one place and buying in another. The trade page and the sell-versus-trade comparison explain when a trade is the better route and when it is not.

What I do not sell, and why

I do not sell fashion-brand watches or smartwatches; they do not belong in the same case and I would not know them the way I know a Submariner. I do not sell replicas, watches with swapped movements, or pieces with aftermarket stones, because the next buyer will ask the same question you are asking and the answer lowers the value. If a watch fails inspection, it is returned to the seller, not listed at a discount.

When a private dealer is not the right call

If you want a current reference unworn from the boutique and you have the relationship and the patience, buy there. If you are chasing the lowest number on a marketplace and are comfortable judging a watch from photos, I will not be the cheapest listing. If you enjoy the auction room and can carry the fees and the wait, an auction may surface pieces I cannot. If you want to see the watch, hear its history from the person who checked it, and have one phone number for everything afterwards, this is the right room. The cost comparisons spell out each route.
