Sell your Rolex GMT-Master II · South Florida · by appointment

Sell your GMT-Master II to a dealer who reads the bezel first.

Pepsi, Batman, Batgirl, Root Beer, Sprite: the insert, the bracelet, and the reference decide a GMT-Master II offer. Send photos and the reference. I reply within 1 business day with a number and the reasoning.

  • Aluminium and Cerachrom inserts valued on different grounds
  • Jubilee or Oyster: I check whether the bracelet is the one it shipped with
  • The older GMT-Master 1675, 16750, and 16700 bought alongside the II

Who this page is for

Your GMT has a nickname. The nickname is not the reference.

This page is for the owner of a Rolex GMT-Master or GMT-Master II who wants to know what the bezel colour, the bracelet, and the generation do to a dealer's offer. Some bought a 126710BLRO on a Jubilee and swapped it to an Oyster. Some have a father's 16710 with a faded Pepsi insert. Some hold a Batman and are weighing a sale.

Unlike most Rolex models, the GMT-Master II is sold as a matrix. Aluminium or Cerachrom insert. Oyster or Jubilee bracelet. Five colour schemes, each with a nickname collectors use more than the reference. The nickname tells me the colours. The reference tells me which comparable sales apply.

Below: the generations, the inserts, the bracelet question, and what to photograph. Serial eras, cards against papers, and polishing live on the Rolex page, linked, not repeated.

Selling a GMT to me

What a GMT-Master II seller gets that a form does not.

Insert read from the photos

Aluminium or Cerachrom, original or service, faded or fresh. I tell you which before the offer, and what it means for your reference.

Bracelet matched to the reference

A 126710BLRO sold in 2018 left the boutique on a Jubilee. I check whether the bracelet on your watch is the one it shipped with.

Older GMT-Masters welcome

The 1675, 16750, and 16700 without the II are bought too, with the same attention to insert and dial originality.

A number in 1 business day

A specific offer and the reasons for it, not a bracket that narrows after the watch arrives.

What I check on a GMT-Master II

Four GMT-specific things that decide the offer.

Insert material

Aluminium on the 1675 through the 16710, Cerachrom from the 116710LN onward. Two-colour Cerachrom, from the Batman in 2013, is its own tier.

Colour scheme

Pepsi red and blue, Coke red and black, Batman blue and black, Root Beer brown and black, Sprite green and black. Each scheme carries its own demand and, on aluminium, its own fade.

Bracelet, and whether it matches

Jubilee from the box or swapped to Oyster. Oyster from the box or swapped to Jubilee. The watch is priced on what it left with and what it has now.

Reference generation

16710 with lug holes or without, 116710 with the Maxi case, 126710 with calibre 3285. Within one colour scheme the generation moves the number.

How it works

Four steps for a GMT-Master II.

  1. 01

    Get an offer

Submit the form with daylight photos: insert straight on so fade and colour read true, bracelet flat with the clasp open and its code visible, the case side at the lugs, the caseback, and the card beside the watch. I reply within 1 business day.

  2. 02

    Ship or meet

Take the prepaid, insured FedEx label, USA only, or book an appointment in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach.

  3. 03

    Inspect and confirm

I open the box on camera and check the insert, bezel action, bracelet and end links, movement, serial, and card. If it matches the photos, the offer stands.

  4. 04

    Get paid

Wire or check within 24 hours of inspection. If we do not agree, the watch goes back to you, insured, at my cost.

Directions, not figures. The effect depends on the reference, the insert, and the market. I show the arithmetic in the reply.

The detail

What moves a GMT-Master II offer, and why.

The nickname gives the colours. The reference gives the price.

Pepsi describes three different watches: an aluminium 1675 or 16710, a white gold 116719BLRO, and a steel 126710BLRO. Batman describes two: the 116710BLNR on Oyster from 2013, and the 126710BLNR from 2019 that collectors renamed Batgirl because it launched on a Jubilee. Each trades on different comparable sales. Two-tone 16713 and 116713LN, and the gold 16718 and 116718, sit in their own metal markets. Send the reference from between the lugs and I place the watch before I price it.

Aluminium inserts: 1675 to 16710, and why fade is not damage

Aluminium inserts fade. A Pepsi insert goes pink and pale blue. A black insert goes grey or brown. Collectors pay for even, honest fade on an original insert, so a faded 16710 can draw more interest than one with a fresh service insert. What lowers the offer is a cracked insert, a replacement brighter than the watch around it, or an insert from a different reference.

I separate even fade from a swap by the font, the lume pip, and how the insert sits in the bezel. If a service replaced the insert and you kept the old one, send both.

Cerachrom: the 116710LN, the Batman, and the two-colour inserts

The 116710LN brought Cerachrom in 2007 on a Maxi case with an Oyster bracelet. Cerachrom does not fade, so the insert question becomes edge chips and originality. The 116710BLNR Batman added the first two-colour Cerachrom in 2013. Since then: Pepsi on the 126710BLRO, Batman on the 126710BLNR, Root Beer on the Everose two-tone 126711CHNR, Sprite on the left-hand-crown 126720VTNR. On these the condition range is narrow; card date, bracelet, and full set do most of the work.

Jubilee or Oyster: the bracelet question

The 126710BLRO launched in 2018 on a Jubilee, and the 126710BLNR in 2019 the same way. Rolex added the Oyster option to both in 2021. So a 126710 with a card dated 2018 or 2019, sitting on an Oyster, has had its bracelet swapped. That is not a problem to hide. It is a fact I price. A watch with its original bracelet, or both bracelets in the box, is worth more than one with the other bracelet alone.

I check the end links, the clasp code, and the bracelet reference against the case. Tell me what the watch left the boutique on.

How the colour schemes trade

Demand follows the scheme and whether Rolex still makes it. The 116710BLNR Batman on Oyster was discontinued in 2019 and trades as a closed reference. Coke exists only on aluminium, on the 16760 and 16710. Steel Cerachrom Pepsi exists only on the 126710BLRO. Sprite is the only left-hand crown. Root Beer in the current line is two-tone Everose. I quote each scheme on its own comparables.

The older GMT-Master, without the II

The 1675, 16750, and 16700 are GMT-Masters, not GMT-Master IIs: the 24-hour hand is tied to the hour hand, so they track a second zone, not a third. They are bought on insert originality and fade, dial and hand originality, and the case. A 1675 with its original matte dial and an even-faded insert is a collector's watch, and I will want to see it in person.

Sell a discontinued colour now, or hold?

When a scheme leaves the catalogue, demand for the closed reference changes, and not always in one direction. I will not forecast it. What I give you is the number today, the reasons, and what would move it. If you need the money this month, the number is real. If not, the watch does not wear in a safe.

When selling to me is not the right call

If you own a 1675 with a rare dial and the time to run an auction, a dealer offer will sit below a strong auction result. If you want the top private-sale figure for a Pepsi and can wait months, I am the faster path, not the highest. If the watch was a gift you are unsure about, keep it. If you want a documented, insured sale with one person accountable for the number, that is what I do.

How to prepare your GMT-Master II submission

  • Insert straight on in daylight, no flash, so fade and colour read true.
  • Bezel at a low angle: chips on Cerachrom, cracks on aluminium, the lume pip at twelve.
  • The case side at the lugs, so lug holes or their absence show, and the reference between the lugs.
  • The bracelet flat, the clasp open with its code, and the end links where they meet the case.
  • Dial straight on, including the 24-hour hand and the lume on dial and hands.
  • The rehaut and the caseback.
  • The warranty card or punched papers beside the watch, serial visible, plus box, tags, and a spare bracelet if you have one.
  • Service history and any insert, hand, or bracelet replacement you know of.

Questions, answered

Before you send a GMT-Master II

Is my GMT a Batman or a Batgirl?

Check the reference between the lugs. The 116710BLNR from 2013 is the Batman, on an Oyster. The 126710BLNR from 2019 is the one collectors call Batgirl because it launched on a Jubilee. Same colours, different references, different offers.

Does a faded Pepsi insert lower or raise the offer?

Even, honest fade on an original aluminium insert usually helps. A cracked insert, a bright service replacement, or an insert from another reference lowers it. Send a daylight photo and I will tell you which you have.

I swapped the Jubilee for an Oyster. Does that matter?

Yes, and it is priced, not penalised. A genuine Rolex Oyster is a real part. A watch with its original bracelet, or both in the box, is worth more than one with the other bracelet alone. Tell me what it left the boutique on.

Do you buy the older GMT-Master without the II?

Yes. The 1675, 16750, and 16700 are appraised on the same page, on insert, dial, and case originality. A 1675 with an untouched dial I will want to see in person.

What if the card is missing?

I still appraise it. The offer is lower, and on a 126710 the card date is also how I confirm which bracelet it shipped with, so the inspection carries more weight. I show you the difference.
