Sell your Breitling Superocean · South Florida · by appointment
Sell your Superocean to a dealer who knows which Superocean it is.
The line, the movement, and the mesh bracelet set a Superocean offer. Send photos and the reference. I reply within 1 business day with a number and the reasoning.
- Calibre 17, B20, and B01 Superoceans valued on separate comparables
- Mesh bracelet stretch, kinks, and clasp wear checked and named in the reply
- The 36 mm, the 46 mm, and the rubber-strap sets all bought

Who this page is for
Two lines share the Superocean name. The offers do not.
This page is for the owner of a Breitling Superocean who wants to know what the line, the movement, and the bracelet do to a dealer's offer. Some have a Superocean 44 that went on every dive trip. Some wear a Superocean Heritage 46 on its mesh. Some bought a Heritage II 42 with the B20 and are weighing a sale.
Superocean names two things. The sport diver: Steelfish, Superocean, Superocean II, and the 2022 relaunch. And the Heritage: the 2007 reissue of the 1957 design, the Heritage II of 2017, and the Heritage B01 chronograph. The mesh bracelet is the Heritage's signature and its main condition risk.
Below: which Superocean you have, the movement question, the mesh bracelet, and what to photograph. B01 against supplied movements in general, COSC paper, and polishing live on the Breitling page, linked, not repeated.

Selling a Superocean to me
What a Superocean seller gets that a form does not.
Heritage or sport, placed from the photos
The bezel, the dial, and the reference tell me which line and which generation before I quote, so the comparables fit your watch.
Mesh bracelet read before the number
Stretch, kinks in the weave, and a clasp that no longer holds each change the offer. I say which applies and what a full-length original adds.
Vintage Superoceans seen in person
A 1957-era Superocean or one of its early successors is a collector's watch. I want it in hand before quoting.
What I check on a Superocean
Five Superocean-specific things that decide the offer.
Calibre 17, B20, or B01
The sport Superocean and the 2007 Heritage run the supplied calibre 17. Heritage II three-handers from 2017 run the B20, built on a Tudor base. The Heritage B01 Chronograph 44 runs Breitling's own chronograph.
Mesh or rubber
The Heritage's Milanese mesh is the signature and the risk: it stretches and kinks. The Ocean Racer and Diver Pro rubber straps are sound but add less. Original mesh at full length lifts the offer.
Bezel and insert
The 2007 Heritage used a steel bezel with engraved numerals. The Heritage II moved to a ceramic insert. Chips, slips, and a bezel that does not click are each priced.
Size and reference
36, 42, 44, and 46 mm in the sport line. 38, 42, 44, and 46 across the Heritage lines. The caseback reference places the watch in its line and era.
The '57 and the chronographs
The Superocean Heritage '57 of 2020 with its concave bezel, the Heritage II Chronograph 46 with the calibre 13, and the B01 Chronograph 44 each sit apart from the three-handers.
How it works
Four steps for a Superocean.
01
Get an offer
Submit the form with daylight photos: the bezel straight on, the dial, the mesh bracelet held at one end so stretch shows and the clasp open with its code, the caseback with the reference legible, and the warranty card and COSC certificate beside the watch. I reply within 1 business day.
02
Ship or meet
Take the prepaid, insured FedEx label, USA only, or book an appointment in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach.
03
Inspect and confirm
I open the box on camera and check the bezel action, the mesh and clasp, the movement against the reference, the serial, and the card. If it matches the photos, the offer stands.
04
Get paid
Wire or check within 24 hours of inspection. If we do not agree, the watch goes back to you, insured, at my cost.
The lines
Superocean, line by line.
The name is shared. The line, the movement, and the bracelet give the offer.
| Criteria | Line and era | What decides the offer |
|---|---|---|
| Superocean 1957 and its early successors | The original Breitling dive watch and the references that followed it | Dial and hand originality, case, bezel. A collector's watch, appraised in person |
| Superocean (around 2010) and Superocean II (around 2015) | 42 and 44 mm, then 36, 42, and 44 in the II. Calibre 17, rubber-moulded bezel | Bezel ring wear, bracelet or rubber, dial colour, card date |
| Superocean Heritage (2007) | Reissue of the 1957 design. 42 and 46 mm, calibre 17; a calibre 13 chronograph. Mesh or Ocean Racer rubber, steel engraved bezel | Mesh condition and length, dial colour, set |
| Superocean Heritage II (2017) | B20 in the 42 and 46 three-handers, ceramic bezel insert, mesh or rubber. B01 Chronograph 44 | B20 or B01 comparables, mesh, insert condition, card date, full set |
| Superocean Heritage '57 (2020) | 42 mm, concave bezel, slimmer case, supplied automatic calibre, mesh or leather | Dial colour and edition, bezel, bracelet, card date |

Directions, not figures. The effect depends on the line, the reference, and the market. I show the arithmetic in the reply.
The detail
What moves a Superocean offer, and why.
Sport Superocean or Superocean Heritage: which one you have
The sport Superocean is the modern diver: a bold bezel, big lume, and a rubber strap or steel bracelet. The Heritage is the reissue of Breitling's 1957 dive watch: a slimmer bezel, arrow or square hands, and the mesh bracelet. Check the caseback reference and the bezel. If the bezel is steel with engraved numerals or a ceramic insert and the bracelet is mesh, you have a Heritage. If the bezel ring is rubber-moulded or the case is 44 mm and heavy, it is the sport line.
Calibre 17, B20, or B01: the movement question
Most Superoceans run the calibre 17, a supplied automatic finished and numbered by Breitling. In 2017 the Heritage II three-handers moved to the B20, a Breitling chronometer calibre built on a Tudor base, and buyers price those apart from the calibre 17 watches. The Heritage B01 Chronograph 44 runs the in-house B01, and the Heritage chronograph 46 runs the calibre 13 on a Valjoux base. The reference tells me which should be inside.
The mesh bracelet: stretch, kinks, and the clasp
The Milanese mesh is why many people buy a Heritage, and it is the part that ages fastest. Years of wear loosen the weave until the bracelet drapes instead of holding its shape. A kink from a snag does not come out. The folding clasp wears where it grips the mesh and can stop holding. Each is priced, and a replacement mesh is a real part with a real cost to the next owner. A full-length original mesh with a tight weave and a clean clasp lifts the offer.
Bezels and inserts across the lines
The 2007 Heritage used a steel bezel with the numerals engraved, so scratches show as bright marks. The Heritage II moved to a ceramic insert, which does not fade but can chip at the edge. The Superocean II used a rubber-moulded bezel ring that scuffs and can lift. On every one I check that the bezel clicks and does not slip, because a dive bezel that drifts is a service item and the next buyer will ask.
Rubber strap sets, and selling on rubber
Many Superoceans were sold on the Ocean Racer or Diver Pro rubber with a Breitling deployant. They add less than an original mesh or steel bracelet, because the bracelet is the costlier part to replace. If the watch came on mesh and now wears rubber, send both and the deployant. If it came on rubber and you added an aftermarket mesh, the aftermarket part adds nothing to the number.
The 2022 relaunch and the 36 mm
In 2022 Breitling relaunched the sport Superocean in 36, 42, 44, and 46 mm with a dial and square-tipped hands drawn from the 1957 original and a calibre 17 inside. The sizes trade separately. The 36 is bought, and it is priced against buyers who want the small case, not against the 42.
Vintage Superoceans, in person
A 1957 Superocean or one of the references that followed it in the 1960s is a different appraisal. Dial, hands, and bezel originality decide most of it, and those are hard to settle from photos. I ask to see those watches by appointment in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach before any offer stands, or by the insured label if you are out of state.
When selling to me is not the right call
If you own an early Superocean with an original dial and the time to run an auction, a dealer offer will sit below a strong auction result. If you want the top private-sale figure for a Heritage II and can wait months, I am the faster path, not the highest. If you want a documented, insured sale with one person accountable for the number, send it in.
How to prepare your Superocean submission
- Bezel straight on in daylight, no flash, plus a low angle for chips on a ceramic insert or lifting on a rubber ring.
- Dial straight on, including the hands and the lume.
- The mesh bracelet held at one end so stretch and any kink show, and the clasp open with its code.
- The caseback with the reference and serial legible, and both case sides so any buffing is visible.
- The rubber strap and deployant if you kept both, and any spare mesh links or the sizing tool.
- The warranty card, COSC certificate, and any Breitling service papers beside the watch, plus the box.
- Service history, any seal or crown service, and any bezel, insert, or bracelet replacement you know of.
Questions, answered
Before you send a Superocean
Is my watch a Superocean or a Superocean Heritage?
Look at the bezel and bracelet. A steel bezel with engraved numerals or a ceramic insert, with a mesh bracelet, is a Heritage. A rubber-moulded bezel ring on a large case is the sport Superocean. The caseback reference settles it; send it and I confirm.
Is the B20 movement worth more?
Usually, yes. The Heritage II three-handers with the B20 draw stronger demand than the calibre 17 watches of the same size. The reference tells me which you have, and I quote on the matching comparables.
The mesh bracelet is stretched. Does that lower the offer?
Yes, by the cost of a correct replacement to the next owner, and I show you that line in the reply. A kink or a clasp that no longer holds is priced the same way. It does not refuse the sale.
Do you buy the 36 mm?
Yes. The 36 mm from the 2022 relaunch and the earlier Superocean II 36 are both bought. They are priced against buyers who want the small case, not against the 42.
Can I ship from out of state?
Yes, from anywhere in the USA on my insured prepaid FedEx label.
