My Timeless Pieces

Hollywood · Broward County · by appointment

Selling a watch from Hollywood: meet me, or ship it.

I drive up to Broward for appraisals; Broward clients tend to be longer-time collectors, and the conversation is better in person. When a visit does not fit, a prepaid, fully insured FedEx label does the job.

  • By appointment in Broward County, Monday to Saturday
  • Prepaid FedEx Priority Overnight, insured, USA only
  • Your form answered within 1 business day

Who this page is for

You are in Hollywood. The watch needs a number.

If you live or work in Hollywood and have a serious watch to sell or trade, this page tells you what happens and what you decide. Hollywood is in Broward County, between Fort Lauderdale and the Miami-Dade line on I-95 and US-1, a short drive north of my office.

First, the form: photos and what you know. I read every submission myself and reply within 1 business day. Second, the choice: I drive up to Broward for appraisals, or I email a prepaid, fully insured label and you hand the box to FedEx.

The Broward arrangement

Four things that stay true whichever path you take.

I drive up for Broward appraisals

I meet clients in their county, not mine. For Broward that means I come to you, by appointment, rather than asking you to drive south on I-95.

Insured courier for everything else

A prepaid FedEx Priority Overnight label, insured to declared value with a signature at both ends, brings the watch to my desk.

Inspected by hand, by me

Case, movement, papers, and serials, checked in person. Shipped boxes are opened on camera.

Wire or check within 24 hours of inspection

Once the watch is confirmed, payment follows within 24 hours of inspection. No agreement, and it goes back insured at my cost.

Before you fill in the form

Brands, exclusions, photos, and the appointment bag.

Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Omega, Breitling

Bought outright or taken in trade, with or without papers. Each has a sell page.

Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Tudor, Panerai, IWC, Zenith

Also bought. Unsure whether your watch belongs here? Send it through the form.

What I do not buy

Smartwatches, fashion-brand watches, and projects without provenance. No exceptions, and no offence intended.

The photos that get a firm first number

Dial, case back, clasp, and the card or papers. Daylight, no flash, phone camera is fine.

Bring to the appointment

The watch, its box, the card or papers, spare links, and service records. Missing pieces change the number, not whether we meet.

The detail

Everything else a Hollywood seller should know.

How an appointment works from Hollywood

I meet clients in their county, not mine, and for Broward I drive up. We agree a time, Monday to Saturday or after hours by request. I arrive with a loupe and the comparables behind the offer, inspect the watch in front of you, and either confirm the number or explain what changed it.

Hollywood is the southern end of Broward, a short drive from Brickell up I-95 or US-1, so your calendar, not distance, should decide between a visit and the label.

Or ship it: the label, the insurance, the camera

The label is FedEx Priority Overnight, prepaid, insured to the declared value, signature required at both ends. It is on my desk the next business day. I open it on camera, inspect it the same day, and pay within 24 hours of that inspection. If the watch differs from your description, I offer a revised number; decline it and the watch goes back insured, at my cost.

What I buy, and what I do not

Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Cartier, Omega, Breitling, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Tudor, Panerai, IWC, and Zenith. With a full set or without; a missing card shifts the weight onto the serial and the inspection. Smartwatches, fashion-brand watches, and projects without provenance are not bought.

Trade instead of sell

A watch can be credited against a piece in the catalog, or against one I source for you, with the difference paid in either direction. Mention the trade on the form and I will quote it both ways; the trade page explains how both sides are valued.

When selling to a dealer is not the right call

If you have time and a willing buyer, a private sale may pay more. If the watch belonged to a parent and the money is not the point, keep it. And if it is a replica, or you cannot say where it came from, I will decline it and tell you so plainly.

How to prepare your submission

  • Dial straight on, daylight, no flash.
  • Case back, and the clasp opened if it carries a code.
  • Reference and serial, or a note that you cannot find them.
  • The card or papers next to the watch, or a note that they are missing.
  • Known service history, including replaced parts.
  • Meet in Broward or ship on the label: tell me which you prefer.
